I’d chosen my fate and I didn’t regret it, although if there was some other way, any other way, I probably would have taken it. This was no slow, crescendo of fire; it hit you like a freight train. Sure, it felt like the same three days of pain—condensed into an hour. Every now and again there was a short period of blankness. Absolutely nothing. Nonetheless, it was little relief. It only meant another wave was coming, not of fire, but of ice. It was as though the fire had incinerated every cell in my body, and the ice froze them and melted me abite me -please comment-
